Philip Schuler began his music education in the Clovis Unified School District , where he graduated as Valedictorian from Clovis High School in 1996. After high school, Mr. Schuler traveled to southern California , where he obtained his Bachelor of Music Degree in Music Education from the University of Southern California in 2000. While at USC, he studied tuba under Tommy Johnson and Dr. Jim Self. Mr. Schuler also played tuba in the Trojan Marching Band, the USC Wind Ensemble, Concert Band, British Brass Band, and various chamber music groups at the university.

Following graduation from USC, Mr. Schuler took over the position of band director at Charter Oak High School in Covina , where he worked for four years. While teaching at Charter Oak, he continued his education at USC where he obtained his Master of Music Education Degree in 2003. He began his tenure as band director at Rancho Cucamonga High School in August 2004.

Mr. Schuler completed his Master of Science Degree in Educational Leadership and California Administrative Services Credential from California State University , Fullerton in May 2007. He has since completed his first year of doctoral coursework at UCR and will complete the Doctor of Education degree from California State University, Fullerton in May 2010.

Outside of band and school, Mr. Schuler enjoys spending time with his family. He has been happily married to his wife, Pamela, for four years. They have a son named Jonathan and a daughter named Aubrey.
